This film captures the journey from Ankara to Kars aboard the Doğu Ekspresi, the Eastern Express. The route crosses the full breadth of Anatolia over more than 24 hours, climbing from the dry Central Plateau through the Pontine Mountains and into the vast, windswept highlands of eastern Turkey. Autumn turns the steppe gold and rust; remote villages, grazing flocks of cows and horses, and volcanic peaks drift past the glass as the light shifts from dawn through dusk and into darkness.
