This film captures the journey along the Ofoten Railway from Narvik to Katterat aboard the Northern Lights Train. The absence of roads and city light makes the dark sky extraordinary. Aurora Borealis shifts and bends above a landscape of frozen fells and Arctic wilderness as the train cuts through the polar night. At Katterat station, 373 metres above sea level and reachable only by rail, the wilderness is total. As people leave the train at the station, a stay behind, excited what I’m able to capture through my camera in complete darkness.
