Exhibition in Utrecht Centraal
23.04. & 25.04.2026
I'm very excited to be able to present the photographs I took of the flower fields between Leiden and Haarlem in a real train station. I'm building light boxes to bring them to life. Come around if you're in the area! The video of this journey you can find here.
Hello, I'm Katie!
Hello, I'm Katie and I take photos from train windows.
I work as a photographer, creator and digital artist – mostly out of London, but more often than not from somewhere else.
I've recently created my first book, about a train journey from Berlin to Prague.
In 2024 I took a lot of trains through the US, creating the project Portrait of America, which was exhibited at the Observatory Gallery, London.
Up until June 2026 I'm travelling through 42 countries in Europe by train. Follow along on Polarsteps. I craft short videos for Instagram and TikTok, drawing inspiration from the details I observe within the journeys.

Street Photography Lesson
Episode 1: Juxtapositions and Gems
Have you got a flask of tea, a satsuma, and a warm scarf? Or maybe just a curious pair of eyes? In this relaxed, roaming lesson on street photography, I invite you to walk with me—literally—as we transform the entire world into the most glorious treasure hunt. Whether you're snapping chewing gum on the pavement or catching a person mid-leap, this episode is all about how to see differently. We'll talk about the joy of the candid, the surreal beauty of chance encounters, and how a juxtaposition can tell a whole story in a single frame. There's music, there are tasks, and there's freedom to play. This is a lesson for anyone and everyone—no fancy gear needed. Just ears, eyes, and maybe your phone.
